Ages of Children in Care
Families need care for children for many reasons at different stages of their early lives. Some families need care for their baby as early as a few weeks old because they have to return to work. Some families want to introduce their children to help them learn and socialize with other children and to be ready for school. After school care is often needed for working families, and may be available on the school campus.
This is a general guide that describes common age ranges. Some programs and regulations may describe children’s ages slightly differently than others.
